RESTORE MARRIAGE, YES ON 8! www.ProtectMarriage.com

VOTE YES ON PROP 8!

PROP 8 Simplified:

Purpose: Change California State constitution to “Define MARRIAGE as between a Man and a Woman.”

Why is there a need?
Recently 4 judges of the supreme court overturned Prop 22 that was voted by 61% of the people (8 years ago) that now allows in the State of California that same gender couples can be “married.”

Voting YES on 8:
Maintains the legal definition of MARRIAGE as between a man and a woman.

Domestic Partners (same gender couples) and civil union status couples DO NOT LOOSE ANYTHING! They maintain their current civil rights and liberties. (Inclusive of visitation in hospitals and insurance benefits to same gen der couples.)

Voting No on 8:
School curriculum will teach that “homosexual marriage” and “heterosexual marriage” is the same.
- Those in support of No in California will go forward just as in Massachusetts where currently same gender couples can be “married” and school curriculums currently teach that “heterosexual couples” and “homosexual couples” are the same. (Example: a book for primary aged children shows a Prince who marries another Prince. In cartoon media a very colorful picture of a man with a crown kissing another man with a crown on his head.)

Loose Religious Freedom and Loose Freedom of Speech.
- Currently in the state of Massachusetts Catholic Charities Adoption Agency was forced to change their doctrinal beliefs and standards to allow same gender couples to adopt children through Catholic Charities. The Catholic church has strong beliefs that marriage is between a man and a woman so instead20of succumbing they maintained a strong stance on morals instead of changing the foundation of their beliefs and Religious doctrine they closed the adoption agency of Catholic Charities in the state of Massachusetts.

Loose Tax exempt status for Religions and other charities that refuse to accept same gender marriages.

Loose Freedom of Speech.
- Religions that teach (from the bible) that homosexual acts is a “sin” could have20legal sanctions and penalties placed on them if they do not change their religious doctrine. It could become considered as discrimination.

Some history –
- Currently there are only 2 states that currently recognize same gender "married" couples. Massachusetts and California.

- 8 other states have been challenged in recognizing marriage between same gender couples however the state supreme court of each of these other 8 states did not pass same gender marriage status.

What could happen to us if Prop 8 doesn't pass!!!

This is an interview with the dad and mom in Massachusetts that requested parent notification of same sex marriage instruction at their 5 year old's school.

Please consider emailing this to anyone and everyone on your email list and asking them to do likewise.

I hope this can be spread far and wide…………….a needed message for our country.

Photo Editing Fun with Picnik.com!

I'm not a good photographer, so thankfully they have these websites to help me make up for my many photo taking inadequacies. Plus, I think this can be quite fun! I heard from my friend Cece (a photographer) about this site that offers free photo editing! Just wanted to pass on the good news! http://www.picnik.com/ . Here's an example, (I don't like the way I look in this picture.)

BEFORE picnik (taken in sepia:)The purpose of taking these shots was to possibly use one for Advertising my violin studio and free-lance violin work.

AFTER using picnik:I'm more likely to use a sketch picture for privacy sake, but it is just ok... but it was fun to try to create some other options using different effects. Our family picture-top right- was also created using picnik. Ughh, enough pics of me. I'll have to blog again soon! Happy editing! This can be so much fun!
