Happy Birthday Lauren!

Disneyland on her B-day with the family and then we were treated to dinner with the Folgers and Lauren loves to see her Aunt Penny! Thank you!
Family party with her cousins wearing silly hats. Lauren loves party hats. Here's a headband made by Aunt Annalee that Lauren is wearing. It took her a while to warm up and get the idea that people were wearing these hats for her, and that this was her party, but after she got to blow out the #3 candle, she gratefully put on her party hat and took a picture with everyone.
Here's another party, with Grandma and Nana and Baba! It was a night we could all get together. We had fun-Lauren was grateful for all of the presents from all the Family. Happy Birthday Lauren!

April...and Easter moments

Jim finally convinced me to make the frozen turkey we've had for a while. So, we had a Thanksgiving dinner in the beginning of April. We have a lot to be thankful for, so I guess this works for us. I'm happy to say, it turned out pretty well. Yum-

To our surprise, Lauren loves to make letters with blocks, toys, bowling pins, sticks... She loves her Nana and Baba's house with all the toys you could imagine going back 30+years. Here she is making L and F. Mind you this is with no help from anyone. Too cute!

Easter fun starting with "painting Easter eggs", as Lauren called it, then waking up to a cute Easter purse with a plastic egg filled with candy to start her day off right. Oh boy, here we go...

Church was great, getting to focus on the true meaning to us of why we celebrate Easter. We are so grateful for the deep love that the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ has for each of us as exemplified by His perfect life and the events that He endured up to His miraculous Resurrection. What wonderful gifts to all mankind! (John 14:6)

On a more temporal note, one of the beautiful things we experienced that day was seeing our little Lauren in her beautiful Easter dress given by my Mom. She loved it so much and wore the thing from 10am-5pm that day. I had to convince her to take it off, and I actually have to sew the flower back on once it gets washed. She was really cute (I'm a little biased.) She really loves that dress. She said she was a princess. Thanks Mom.

Leaving for Nana and Baba's house: Lauren can't wait...

Baba has a surprise for Lauren: A sugar egg where you look inside and see the bunny. It was too precious, and very sweet of them. Literally as well. Made out of that pure white sugar for the egg, and more refined sugar for everything else, I haven't seen those in a long time. Very delicate. Kind of nostalgic seeing her look at one of those for the first time. Well, it didn't take Lauren long to figure out it was edible and it was gone before I could get her to eat her lunch first. I tried all afternoon long to get her to eat the right stuff, but alas it was Easter, what else is a kid supposed to eat all day long? I'm just kidding, I was so relieved when she ate some pieces of the delicious ham and other food Marian had prepared that night at dinner.

The very generous Easter Bunny knew Lauren was coming to Nana and Baba's house. Here's a picture of the beginning of the hunt and what's not pictured the eventual water splashing. I had to get a shot of this, it looked too cute! We had a wonderful Easter Sunday with the Folgers. Thanks for everything, we love you so much!

Happy Birthday Jim!

Happy Birthday Jim! -31-Fun Celebrating:

We weren't able to go on his actual Birthday to Disneyland because Jim and I were in an Easter concert together at Segerstrom Hall in Orange County. There was a dress rehearsal on the night of his birthday and then the night after we went out with his parents to the Chart House-yum! Then the following day was 4 hours of rehearsal then a 3 hour concert.
Check out the coverage of the concert and click on (MORE PHOTOS) in this Orange County Register article>>>>http://www.ocregister.com/articles/weneta-orchestra-kosmala-2343991-concert-(you can see both Jim and I in the background on some of these photos.) It was a beautiful concert, and Jim and I had fun playing together in orchestra again.

Family Favorite place to go. (DT Disney is all.) She has a blast with nothing more than a red Mickey Mouse Lollipop.

Thanks to Jim's parents, they gave Jim 2fers for his birthday. As a whole family, we celebrated Jim's B-day again at California Adventure. So much fun. Too bad I was miserably sick. I would have enjoyed a whole lot more.

A little Celebrating:
A little treat- Lauren now loves to get 3 straws together and invites us to share her drink.
One day I found her not eating her eggs and she said her dinosaurs were taking a bath.
While our niece Amy was down we went out together to a distant cousin, Sheila's B-day party in Hollywood. Lauren had so much fun. To our surprise we learned that up the hill nearby the park we could see the original bat cave from the original BATMAN series. Lauren had just gotten some excellent party favors that she put to use right away for our exploring adventure. It was a beautiful and fun day, and getting to see this, topped it all off!
